Updated: Mar 8

HealthFinders works hard to cultivate leaders who are driven to make a difference. We are dedicated to helping our diverse staff develop and grow, and we are committed to supporting their professional development along the way.

Maritza Navarro just graduated with a master’s degree in social work from Augsburg University. She is currently pursuing a clinical license (LICSW) to be a mental health practitioner and is studying for the licensing exam at the end of July.

Maritza is the Care Coordinator for HealthFinders, assisting patients and connecting them to resources. Maritza has always been interested in working with the community to help improve the health of its members. She says HealthFinders provides an opportunity for her to fulfill this goal.

“HealthFinders goes hand-in-hand with what I want to be as a social worker, and as a practitioner. I want to serve marginalized communities, especially the Latinx community. At HFC we are often their only option. I enjoy helping address basic barriers like language and cost and helping them navigate their care.”

Fausto Rodela-Rodriguez received his Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene with Honors from Normandale Community College on May 16, 2022.

Fausto began working at HealthFinders as one of our Dental Program Assistants in 2016. After seeing the great need for dental care and education in the community, he was determined to do more to help his patients, which led him to pursue a career in Dental Hygiene. Fausto is now a dental hygiene provider who advocates for a healthier community by providing amazing dental care to his patients. He brings a radiant, positive attitude to HealthFinders and loves to help all who come through our doors.

“The thing I like most about working at HealthFinders is being able to make a difference in our patients’ health. No matter the impact - big or small - it is rewarding to be able to help the community. “

Ana Coba graduated from South Central College in May, receiving her Business Management degree. She is continuing her education at Winona State University, pursuing a bachelor’s in Human Resources. She is also getting her Community Health Worker certification, which will be complete in November 2022.

Ana works with HealthFinders as a Community Health Coordinator/ Community Health Worker. Her goal is to help to reduce health disparities in the community, and help patients achieve their health goals. She helps patients gain access to services like health education and information, Informal counseling, as well as guidance with health behaviors or chronic deceases. Additionally, she is in charge of the PuraVida wellness program, developing programs, coordinating events and tracking issues across Rice and Steele Counties.

“I like to think that as a Mexican immigrant, there are a lot of opportunities to succeed and to follow our dreams. I love my job and I love helping others because I want to eliminate barriers for patients and just be there for them. HealthFinders taught me that until you spread your wings, you will have no idea how far you can fly.”

HealthFinders is committed to ensuring our communities see themselves represented both in and out of our offices. Congrats grads on your recent accomplishments and kudos to your passion for culturally responsive care!
